Fixed Wire Testing

At Powertest we can help you with your Fixed Wire and Mains Testing in Haywards Heath and throughout West Sussex.

Why you need Fixed Wire testing at your premises?

Electrical installations, like all infrastructure components, deteriorate and sustain damage in everyday service. Conduits, cabling, seals, sockets and switches are all susceptible to impact damage and wear and tear. Wiring can be disturbed and contacts become loose due to unexpected mechanical strains.

Depending on the environment in which you work, corrosive liquids or hazardous conditions can accelerate the deterioration of both conductors and insulators, or cause wiring to oxidise and deteriorate faster than normal. To minimise risks and ensure your wiring complies with all relevant regulations and legal obligations, Powertest provides comprehensive Fixed Wire Testing to IET Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008 Incorporating Amendment No.1:2011 Across the United Kingdom.

How often should your establishment be inspected and tested?

The Institution of Engineering and technology formerly the (IEE) give guidance for the “recommended” frequencies for the inspection & test of most electrical installations, with 3 & 5 years recommended for most commercial & industrial type premises.

However, consideration will need to be given to other factors that may require a more frequent testing regime. A careful assessment of your installation and its use should be conducted to help determine this frequency.

We at Powertest offer a site survey before work is undertaken to access the magnitude of the site and to set up a site plan for further visits. We offer a range of ways to complete the testing in the given timescale.
